Siliguri, 24th April: Before returning to Delhi, Priyank Kanungo, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights, expressed his anguish over the Kaliaganj incident. While talking to reporters at Bagdogra Airport, he mentioned that the state administration had not provided him with the postmortem report.
Additionally, only one doctor met him after 24 hours, despite the earlier assurance of three doctors. Even the IO officer of the case could not provide information about several issues. Furthermore, the police did not share any information about the accused, Javed. Chairman Kanungo suspect that Javed could be a Bangladeshi infiltrator. He added that as per the doctors who conducted the postmortem, it is impossible to determine if the minor committed suicide or not.
