Siliguri, 03rd March: The death of a 27-year-old prisoner, Subrata Saha, has created a stir in the city. Saha was a resident of the Champasari area.
As per the deceased’s father, Subrata was in jail for the past six months, after he was arrested under the charges of theft.
Saha’s family members were informed regarding his sudden illness, last Saturday. He was then admitted to the North Bengal Medical College-Hospital. However, Subrata died on Monday night.
The body was sent for an autopsy today. The matter will be investigated at the magistrate level.
