Rajganj, 18th December: Chairperson of Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad president Uttara Barman, laid the foundation stone for the construction of the road. Today, under the aegis of Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad, the foundation stone of the metalled road which is being built at a cost of about Rs 26 lakh in Chatkiabhita area under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block was laid.
In this regard, Jalpaiguri Zilla Parishad Chairperson Uttara Burman said that the residents had been demanding the construction of a metalled road for a long time as it is one of the most important routes. He further added that he laid the foundation stone of the said road today which will benefit the people of the area.
During this, MLA Rajganj Khageswar Roy, President of Rajganj Panchayat Samiti Purnima Roy, Pradhan of Binnaguri Gram Panchayat Shashibhushan Barman and others were present.
