Siliguri, 03rd June: With the Lok Sabha elections concluded across the nation, attention now shifts to the crucial task of counting votes. Preparations are in full swing at Siliguri College as the fate of candidates contesting from the Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency hangs in balance.
Counting of votes is scheduled to commence on Tuesday at 8 a.m., sparking anticipation nationwide. It is to be noted that voting was held in Darjeeling district on April 26 in the second phase. Following which, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been diligently guarded in the college’s strong room.
In anticipation of the event, stringent security measures have been implemented across the college campus. Microphones, CCTV cameras, and security personnel have been deployed to ensure smooth proceedings. Access to the campus has been restricted to authorized personnel only, further enhancing security arrangements.
As the nation awaits the outcome, all eyes are on Siliguri College where the electoral destiny of candidates vying for the Darjeeling Lok Sabha constituency will be determined tomorrow.
