Siliguri, 24th August: As Ganesh Puja approaches, preparations are in full swing across Siliguri. The city is buzzing with excitement for the festival, with the Pradhan Nagar Ganesh Puja Committee preparing a 30-foot tall statue of Lord Ganesha, set to be the largest in North Bengal.
This year, the grand idol will be the centerpiece of celebrations, drawing significant attention. Traditionally, Ganesh Puja is marked by elaborate displays in Maharashtra, but this year, Siliguri is set to showcase a similar level of grandeur.
The Pradhan Nagar Ganesh Puja Committee, now entering its fourth year of organizing the event, has also announced that the festival will focus on promoting tree plantation and environmental conservation.
