Pregnant cow finds shelter in garage, Siliguri’s Suryasen Colony residents go above and beyond to care for calf

Siliguri, 19th June: In a heartwarming incident, a pregnant cow found herself roaming the streets in front of a house, prompting local residents to come to her aid. Taking quick action, the compassionate individuals arranged for the pregnant cow to stay in a nearby garage until she gave birth to a healthy calf.

However, the arrival of the calf presented a new challenge for the residents, who took it upon themselves to provide proper care. Since the calf was unable to nurse from its mother, they purchased a feeding bottle and diligently fed the calf milk. Their collective efforts ensured the calf’s well-being as they tirelessly tended to its needs.

Recognizing the need for a more suitable environment and professional care, the residents reached out to the police for assistance in finding a suitable home for both the cow and her calf. In response, the police took the initiative and arranged for the cow and calf to be transferred to a local government gaushala.

Bachchu Bose, a resident of Block A in Suryasen Colony, Siliguri, played a pivotal role in offering his garage as a temporary refuge for the pregnant cow. Witnessing the miraculous birth of the calf, he, along with fellow residents, showed great dedication in ensuring the calf’s survival.

However, the noble act of rescuing the cow and calf was not without its challenges. Numerous individuals claimed ownership of the cow, adding a layer of complexity to the situation. Nevertheless, with the assistance of the police, the rightful owners were determined, and on Monday, the cow and calf were officially handed over to the government gaushala.
