Siliguri, 07th October: The officials of Pradhan Nagar Police Station have successfully cracked a theft case within ten days and recovered the stolen items. The suspect, identified as Karan Subba, a resident of Gurung Basti, has been arrested in connection with the case.
According to reports, on September 26, a thief entered an empty house in the Kalikot area and committed the robbery. Upon returning on September 27, the homeowners discovered the theft. The thief had made off with gold chains, rings, and a television from the house.
Following the incident, the victims filed a written complaint at the Pradhan Nagar Police Station. Subsequently, the police initiated an investigation and, acting on a tip-off, arrested Karan on Sunday night near Siliguri Junction. During intensive interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime.
The police investigated and recovered the stolen items from an abandoned house in Champasari. The accused has been presented in Siliguri Court while the police are continuing their investigation.
