Siliguri, 11th August: Pradhan Nagar Police raided a hotel located near State Guest House and detained the hotel owner and two persons for conducting illegal liquor trade. The locals were very happy with the step taken by the police.
Locals alleged that the people, especially the girls, had to face numerous problems while passing by the liquor den in the said hotel. They stated that the raid conducted by the police will restore peace in the area.
According to police sources, the campaign was conducted based on the complaint of the local people. During the raid, huge amount of local and country-made liquor was recovered from the hotel. Three persons, including a woman, have been detained for illegally selling liquor in the hotel.
