Siliguri, 04th November: It is to recall that the body of a person was recovered near Siliguri Junction railway station under Pradhan Nagar police station on October 06. However, the body has not yet been identified. According to the information received from the police sources, the person was killed by hitting him on the forehead with a heavy stone.
For the last one month, the Pradhan Nagar police have been searching for the ‘Stoneman’ to solve the murder case. Several suspects were taken into custody and interrogated. Meanwhile, the police have also received the CCTV footage of the army camp adjacent to the crime scene.
Kunwar Bhushan Singh, West Zone DCP of Siliguri Metropolitan Police, said that continuous efforts are being made to solve the case. Many have also been detained and questioned. Meanwhile, an atmosphere of panic has been created across the city regarding the infamous ‘Stoneman’.
