Siliguri, 02nd September: The Pradhan Nagar Police arrested a youth with a huge quantity of intoxicating tablets, on Wednesday night. The arrested accused have been identified as Ashok Sharma alias Akash, of the area adjacent to ISKCON Mandir Road.
According to the information, the accused stood near the State Guest House to deliver a large number of intoxicating tablets. As soon as the Pradhan Nagar police received the tip, they launched a secret operation and arrested Ashok Sharma from the said area. A total of 12,500 banned tablets worth around one lakh rupees were recovered from his possession.
The police have registered a case against the arrested under NDPS Act and produced him in Siliguri court today.
