Siliguri, 03rd April: As the nation is under coronavirus-lockdown, the staff of Post Offices under West Bengal delivered pensions at the houses of people of 80-years and above. The move came after the Chief Postmaster General (CPMG) of West Bengal circle Goutam Bhattacharya made the announcement on Tuesday.
The Deshbandhu Para Post Office, today, delivered the pension to about 35 senior citizens at their respective homes. Likewise, the Postal Staff will deliver the pension to the senior citizens living in Darjeeling and Siliguri.
A nationwide lockdown was announced to contain the spread of the coronavirus. In view of which the government has decided to deliver pension to the homes of senior citizens aged 80 years or older.
