Siliguri, 03rd October: Siliguri Metropolitan Police will closely monitor pubs and bars during the upcoming Durga Puja celebrations, ensuring they adhere to the stipulated closing times set by the government. Any establishment found operating beyond these hours will face strict action.
DCP Traffic Biswa Chand Thakur emphasized the importance of maintaining order during the festive season, stating that immediate action will be taken against any pub or bar found disrupting the city’s peaceful atmosphere.
Special attention will be given to areas such as Matigara and Sevoke Road, with additional police forces deployed to ensure compliance. To enhance safety, especially for women, pink mobile patrolling vans will also be stationed across the city during the festivities.
