Police recover 55 stolen and lost mobile phones in Siliguri, return them to owners

Siliguri, 06th February: In a successful operation, the police team from Siliguri Police Station, Khalpara Outpost and Panitanki Outpost recovered around 55 mobile phones that were either stolen, snatched, or lost. The phones, valued at approximately ₹10 to 12 lakh, were returned to their rightful owners at Siliguri Police Station.


According to reports, the police stations have been receiving several complaints regarding mobile phone theft, snatching, and loss over the past six months. Acting on these complaints, the police launched an investigation and managed to recover the stolen and lost phones.

During the event, DCP Rakesh Singh handed over the recovered phones to their owners after proper verification. The owners expressed their gratitude to the police for their efforts in returning their lost belongings.


DCP Rakesh Singh mentioned their success in the operation and confirmed the recovery of 55 mobile phones from various places, which were either stolen or lost. The total value of the phones is around ₹10 to 12 lakh. He urged the people to file complaints with the nearest police station as well as on the government portal in case of theft or loss of mobile phones.
