Siliguri, 16th March: Siliguri Police have recovered around 54 mobile phones stolen or lost over the past year and returned them to their rightful owners, earning widespread appreciation for their efforts.
According to police sources, nearly 100 incidents of mobile phone theft and snatching were reported in the city over the past year. Through operations across various parts of Siliguri, the police were able to recover 54 of these stolen or snatched phones. The total market value of the recovered phones is estimated at around ₹12 lakh.
On Monday, the recovered phones were handed back to their respective owners. Many recipients expressed their joy and relief, as some had lost hope of ever recovering phones lost six months to a year ago. Citizens thanked Siliguri Police for their dedicated work in retrieving the lost and stolen devices.
