Siliguri, 16th January: ASI Narayan Chandra Das an officer of the Siliguri Police Commissionerate who was undergoing treatment after a road accident tragically succumbed to his injuries earlier on Tuesday. The incident led to an atmosphere of mourning in the entire region.
According to reports, on January 9, the official was allegedly hit by a four-wheeler near Chandmuni while returning home from duty in Matigara on his two-wheeler. As a result, the official suffered significant injuries and his leg was severely wounded.
Subsequently, he was undergoing extensive medical treatment followed by foot surgery at a nursing facility located in Matigara. However, during the course of the treatment, his physical condition began to deteriorate. On Monday, ASI Narayan Chandra Das breathed his last at the nursing facility.
Following the incident, the Matigara police promptly seized the four-wheeler responsible for the tragedy. Meanwhile, the police are on a hunt to nab the accused driver of the car.
