Police investigates the mystery behind alleged e-rickshaw kidnapping in Siliguri

Siliguri, 24th July: Panic gripped the city of Siliguri over alleged kidnapping attempts after boarding e-rickshaws.

Recently on Tuesday, a student of the Vivekananda Vidyalaya reportedly boarded an e-rickshaw after school. Later, the student complained that she was in the danger of being kidnapped. The school principal was informed of the entire incident and the matter was promptly reported to the police.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday morning, another student took an e-rickshaw to school from near Rabindra Nagar. The student claimed that after boarding the vehicle she got a foul smell. Subsequently, she fell ill and was taken to the Siliguri District Hospital. Following this, the Siliguri police arrived at the hospital and school. Meanwhile, DCP Deepak Sarkar arrived at the scene and examined the CCTV footage from that day.

The headmaster of the school explained that there was nothing to be concerned about as the matter was under police investigation. In the meantime, DCP Deepak Sarkar stated that both incidents are being thoroughly investigated. The student who fell unwell due to the suspicious stench from the e-rickshaw had been interrogated. However, preliminary assumptions suggest that nothing suspicious had been sprayed on for the stench to occur.

The DCP further explained that the panic among people was caused by false rumors. He stated that both the students were from the same class and one of them got off the vehicle due to the stench. As a result, there was no evidence of abduction. Meanwhile, the case of the other student claiming danger of abduction is under further investigation.

Many people have been missing for a long time. But no action could be taken by Siliguri police. Has the administration embezzled money?
