Siliguri, 11th July: A planned robbery was thwarted by Pradhan Nagar police station as they apprehended five individuals armed with sharp weapons. The suspects, identified as Manjit Oraon (26), Sanjay Bhagat (34), Indrajit Gosai (27), Bijay Roy (28), and Subhash Singh (27), all residents of areas unedr the Pradhan Nagar police station, were arrested following a swift police operation.
According to reports, a group of 10-12 criminals had assembled at a school ground in Devidanga with intentions to commit a robbery in Siliguri. Upon receiving the report, police swiftly launched an operation, leading to the arrest of five suspects. Some perpetrators managed to evade capture.
The five accused were presented before the Siliguri court on Thursday. Authorities continue to probe the circumstances surrounding the foiled robbery attempt.
