Rajganj, 05th September: A new police camp has been inaugurated at Rajganj Rural Hospital to ensure the safety of doctors, health workers, and patients. The camp was officially opened on Thursday by District Superintendent of Police Umesh Ganpat Khandbahale and Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy, who also chairs the Rogi Kalyan Samiti of the hospital.
Reportedly, the newly established camp will be staffed around the clock with an ASI rank officer, a constable, and a civic volunteer. The Rajganj Rural Hospital, which has 45 beds and serves approximately 500 patients daily, will benefit from the increased security presence. The nearest police station is several kilometers away, causing delays in response times during emergencies.
District Superintendent of Police Khandbahale announced that this initiative is part of a broader plan to set up similar police camps at other rural hospitals, as well as at the Sadar Hospital, District Hospital, and Super Specialty Hospital in the district. The aim is to provide enhanced security and reassurance to healthcare professionals and patients.
The inauguration event was attended by several dignitaries, including CMOH Asim Haldar, BMOH Rahul Roy, and Rajganj Police Station IC Anupam Majumdar.
