Phansidewa, 25th April: Police in Phansidewa successfully foiled a robbery attempt, arresting four miscreants who were plotting to commit a crime. The arrested individuals have been identified as Mohammad Azimul, Mohammad Shahid, Mohammad Mafizuddin, and Mohammad Azibul, all residents of NJP and Phansidewa.
According to reports, the police received a tip-off late Thursday night that a group of 5-6 miscreants had gathered near Goaltuli More in Phansidewa with the intention of committing a robbery. Upon reaching the location, the suspects fled the scene, but Phansidewa police gave chase and managed to apprehend four of them.
During the arrests, police recovered the weapons that were intended for the robbery. The arrested individuals were presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Friday.
Authorities will be investigating further, using remand to question the suspects and uncover any additional individuals involved in the plot.
