Siliguri, 14th March: The Ashighar Outpost police, on Sunday, busted an illegal trade that was being run in the name of ‘Tour and Travels’ agency at Panchanan Road area in Ward no-36.
Reportedly, two men, namely Shubh Sen and Vishwajeet Mandal, residents of Ward no-36 and 37, rented a house in the said area, 10 days ago, to run a Tour and Travel agency. However, as there was no signboard outside the office, the locals grew suspicious in this regard. Besides, several young women were allegedly spotted entering the office at different times of the day.
Subsequently, the locals gathered near the office this afternoon and informed the police. Upon receiving the news, the police reached the spot shortly after to take stock of the situation. However, the police officials failed to recover any valid document of the agency.
Acting promptly, the police closed the office and asked both the accused individuals to prepare necessary documents and take permission from the police before starting their business.
