Police arrest two with stolen goods within 12 days of complaint in Bagdogra

Bagdogra, 13th May: The Bagdogra police have apprehended two individuals in connection with a recent theft at the residence of the assistant manager of Bhojnarayan Tea Estate in Phansidewa. The accused, identified as Vijay Kalyan Toppo (30) and Rahul Kujur (25), were arrested within 12 days of the reported incident.


According to sources, the theft occurred on May 1, prompting assistant manager Paresh Chandra Sarkar to lodge a formal complaint at the Bagdogra police station. Following the investigation, the police officers initiated an investigation that led to the apprehension of the suspects from the Jhari line of Bhojnarayan Tea Estate on Sunday.

During the arrest, the officials recovered the stolen items, including a television set, a gas stove, and two gas cylinders. On Monday, the accused were produced before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court. At present, the entire incident is under further investigation.
