Siliguri, 07th November: The police administration held a meeting in Siliguri along with various puja committees in view of the upcoming Kali Puja celebration. The meeting was held today at Uttarbanga Marwari Palace in Siliguri.
Reportedly, in today’s meeting, many instructions have been given on behalf of the police administration. Like Durga Puja, this year Kali Puja will also have various restrictions. Apart from this, safety rules have been asked to be adopted by the puja committees as per the government guidelines.
In the aforementioned meeting, the puja committees have been asked to make the pandals open and keep masks and sanitizer available at all time. There will be no fair and cultural programmes during Kali Puja. The committees have been asked to be extra particular regarding crowd gathering near the puja pandals. Apart from this, the committees have also been warned not to burn any firecrackers around the puja pandal area. This year 417 pujas will be allowed under the Siliguri Metropolitan Police.
The meeting was attended by Police Commissioner Tripurari Atharv, Joint Commissioner Sabyasachi Raman Mishra, DCP Joy Tudu, ACP Swapan Sarkar, ACP Chinmay Mittal, SDO Sumant Sahay and officials of SSB, BSF, Fire, Health Department, Municipal Corporation.
DCP Joy Tudu informed that the permission for puja will commence from tomorrow. Also, strict legal action will be taken against the firecracker shop in the city.
