Poisoned to Death: In-Laws accused of murdering woman in Rajganj

Rajganj, 08th December: A woman has allegedly been murdered by her in-laws through poisoning in the Akharigachh village of Rajganj. The victim’s family has filed a complaint with Rajganj police against the in-laws.


According to reports, one year ago, Sahena Begum from Akharigachh village in the Binnaguri Gram Panchayat married Mohammad Imran from Paschim Balabari locality in the Sannyasikata Gram Panchayat. The couple has a four-month-old son.

The victim’s family claimed that from the beginning of the marriage, Sahena was subjected to both mental and physical abuse by her in-laws, who demanded dowry. Tensions escalated on November 13, when she was allegedly poisoned. Sahena was rushed to a private hospital in Fulbari in critical condition. Despite treatment, her condition showed no improvement, and two days ago, she was brought back to her parental home. Unfortunately, she passed away on Sunday morning.


The victim’s family has demanded strict punishment for the in-laws. Meanwhile, the in-laws went into hiding following the incident, and the police launched an investigation into the matter.
