Phansidewa, 13th August: In a recent theft incident, a pickup van loaded with 65 sacks of potatoes was stolen in the Leusipakuri area of Phansidewa near Siliguri.
As per reports, around 10:30 p.m. on Monday night, the pickup van driver brought 65 sacks of potatoes in the pickup van from Haldibari and parked the vehicle near his house in Leusipakuri area.
The next morning, when the driver went to unload the potatoes, he discovered that both the vehicle and the potatoes, valued at approximately Rs 80,000, were missing. The incident was promptly reported to the Phansidewa police.
Police officials reached the scene early Tuesday and initiated an investigation into the entire incident.
