Rajganj, 28th March: The nationwide strike called by the central trade union on March 28 and 29 did not have much effect in Rajganj. Apart from a few places, shops were open in almost the entire area.
While picketing was carried out in Fulbari bazaar on behalf of SUCI, some of the SUCI activists were detained and taken to the police station on the charge of forcibly closing shops in Fulbari.
“We were protesting peacefully. But the police unjustly detained 10 of us,” SUCI leader Mainur Islam said.
