Pharmaceutical company in Siliguri under fire over unethical transfers and firings

Siliguri, 15th November: On Friday, members of the Darjeeling District West Bengal Medical and Sales Representatives Union staged a protest over unjust transfers and firings of workers at a Pharmaceutical company in Siliguri. The demonstration was carried out near Siliguri’s SF Road, with several workers joining the rally.

As per reports, Shantanu Dutta, a representative of the group, stated that field workers were being transferred unethically by the company’s management. He further claimed that many workers were dismissed without prior notice. The protest was organized to demand an immediate halt to these transfers and firings.

Dutta also emphasized that those workers who had been transferred to other locations or threatened with transfers should be returned to their original headquarters immediately. Additionally, he alleged that the company was attempting to break the protest by bringing in managers from various headquarters.

The protestors condemned the sudden and arbitrary transfers, as well as the firings, and demanded fair treatment from the company. The group cautioned a continued agitation until their concerns were addressed.
