Phansidewa, 02nd March: Members of the Phansidewa Joutha Radhuni Samity staged a protest at the Block Development Officer (BDO) office on Monday to press several demands.
The association members marched to the BDO office and were stopped by police at the gate. A five-member delegation was later allowed inside to submit a memorandum detailing their demands.
The memorandum highlighted key demands including salary increases, festival bonuses, and proper insurance coverage in case of accidents during work. Additional organizational and work-related issues were also raised.
Cooks claimed that they often face threats when raising legitimate demands and urged the administration for immediate intervention and positive action to address their concerns.
