Siliguri, 10th January: Darjeeling BJP MP Raju Bista reached Ward No. 23 of the city today with an aim to make the common people aware of the CAA.
The Minister started off the Sampark Abhiyan in support of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) by visiting the Suryanagar Maidan in Dabgram and interacted with the people of the area over ‘Chai pe Charcha’. Later, the MP visited areas adjoining the Phuleshwari Bazaar and distributed the leaflets regarding CAA to the people.
While addressing the media, the MP stated, “CAA is a law to give citizenship to people, not to take it away. The Chief Minister tried to mislead people by holding several rallies. This is why we are visiting every house, town, and village in the city. Through this camp, we came to know that people are with BJP. People are not coming under the influence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, especially the people of Siliguri ”.
Bista further added that “people have faith in Prime Minister Modi. The public knows everything, believes everything. The public is happy with the actions of the Prime Minister ”.
“Everyone should work together in the interest of Bengal and Siliguri”, the MP further added.
Addressing the people of Siliguri, Bista said, “I am your MP. I will protect your interests, The people of Siliguri are positive about CAA. The CAA is being opposed by the Chief Minister and not by the people of the city”.
