Siliguri, 22nd August: On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, a large crowd of people was spotted in various markets of the city today.
As the state observed bi-weekly lockdown on August 20 and 21, many devotees could not complete their shopping before the puja. Consequently, the vegetable and fruit markets of Bidhan Market, Dashakarma Bhandar and idol shops were found cramped with people since this morning.
However, keeping the ongoing pandemic in view, the citizens were seen wearing masks and face covers and following the government guidelines.
