Siliguri, 30th June: The Pavitra Nagar area of Ward No. 46 is submerged under rainwater following a continuous downpour. The residents blamed the lack of a good drainage system in the area for the situation.
The locals alleged that during the tenure of the Left Administrative Board in Siliguri Municipal Corporation, memorandums were issued several times to fix the drainage system but to no avail. The whole area is inundated and pedestrians are facing extreme trouble.
The women of the area warned to boycott the municipal polls if the problems of sewer, drinking water, and roads are not solved.
