Rajganj, 29th June: The road leading to Rajganj Rural Hospital is allegedly lying in a dilapidated condition for a long time. As a result, patients and pedestrians are facing problems in their commute.
Reportedly, the Rajganj Rural Hospital is situated at Magradangi of Panikauri Gram Panchayat in Rajganj. This important paved road has been in a state of disrepair for more than two years. Furthermore, accidents have become frequent. Locals complained that despite facing extreme trouble, no initiative is being taken by the administration for repair work.
E-rickshaw (Toto) drivers said that due to the road’s poor condition, big potholes have been formed in some places. Due to which more accidents are getting reported. Besides, patients are having a lot of problems reaching the hospital. They alleged that despite reporting the matter to the gram panchayat authorities, no required steps have been taken so far.
In this regard, Gram Panchayat Pradhan Alap Roy said that Gram Panchayat does not have the financial capacity to repair the road at the moment. Therefore, he will hold discussions with the MLA about Jalpaiguri District-in-Council or Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority (SJDA) doing the repair work.
