Gangtok 04th June: Many patients were referred to Central Referral Hospital (CRH) Manipal in Sikkim for treatment from a recent free health check-up camp organized by the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha and Kanchenjunga Trust and Project Reaching Out.
Among them, the patients who regained their vision through eye surgery reached Sir Thutob Namgyal Memorial (STNM) Hospital in Gangtok and met GJM Chairman Bimal Gurung, who is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. They inquired about his health and wished him a quick recovery and good health.
It is to be noted, Gurung staged hunger strike to death for 103 hours in Darjeeling, protesting against the Gorkha Territorial Administration(GTA) election. After his health deteriorated, he was admitted to State-run Darjeeling Sadar Hospital and was later referred to Gangtok.
