Patients troubled by faulty Digital X-ray machine in Naxalbari Rural Hospital

Naxalbari, 14th December: The patients visiting the Naxalbari rural hospital are allegedly troubled by a faulty Digital X-ray machine for about 10 days. Consequently, the patients are compelled to pay for X-ray services undertaken in other private hospitals and centers.

As per reports, after the installation of the X-ray machine, on November 19 last year, this is the first instance that the machine has malfunctioned in the said hospital. According to hospital sources, X-ray reports of about 35-40 people are done free of cost every day at the hospital. However, following its breakdown, patients have to spend about Rs 300-500 to get an X-ray done from outside sources. In response, the patients have urged for resumption of services.

Meanwhile, Naxalbari Block Health Officer Dr. Kuntal Ghosh stated over the phone that the machine had malfunctioned for about three to four days, and the engineers have been informed for immediate rectification. He further assured that the service will be normalized soon.
