Siliguri, 29th July: A tragic road accident occurred on Sunday night when a passenger bus lost control and crashed in front of gate number two of North Bengal University (NBU) at Shiv Mandir near Siliguri.
Local sources reported that the bus was traveling from Panitanki towards Siliguri when the traffic signal in front of NBU turned red, causing all vehicles ahead to stop. The speeding bus was unable to brake in time, lost control, and crashed into the divider on the highway. There were approximately 25 passengers on board, all of whom, including the bus driver, sustained minor injuries.
Upon receiving the information, Bagdogra traffic guard police and fire brigade personnel promptly arrived at the scene. The police have recovered the bus and are currently investigating the incident.
