Siliguri, 05th October: A memorandum will be submitted to the ADRM in NJP on October 12 on behalf of the Darjeeling district Pashchim Banga Basti Unnayan Samiti and CITU Darjeeling district against the eviction of slums. A protest rally will also be staged from Tinbatti More.
During a press conference, Dilip Singh, district secretary of the Pashchim Banga Basti Unnayan Samiti, stated that land leases should be immediately arranged for the residents of the railway area. They will also protest in front of the ADRM office on October 12 in support of the said demand. Besides, voices will also be raised against the harassment faced by the hawkers regarding their trade in the railway station.
