Siliguri, 10th July: Open manhole and gaping potholes on the road near the IOC-Jabrabhita underpass is causing a great inconvenience to the pedestrians. As commuters try to dodge the uncovered manhole, traffic congestion is often created in the underpass every day.
According to sources, the wheel of a vehicle got stuck in the manhole on Friday evening and was later pulled out with the help of local people.
Toto drivers Vivek Dey and Saurav Roy said that due to the open manhole, a lot of problems are being caused. “A few days back, we had to turn around because the underpass was submerged. Now that the problem is resolved. But new problems have arisen due to the opening of the manhole cover,” the duo complained.
