Jalpaiguri, 15th December: During a public meeting in Jalpaiguri on Tuesday, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee took a jibe at the BJP thanking the hill residents for finally realizing the “drama” carried out by BJP.
It is to recall, in October, fugitive Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) President Bimal Gurung dramatically resurfaced in Kolkata to announce he was breaking all ties with BJP and would support Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress in next year’s assembly election.
Earlier December, the Morcha leader reached Siliguri and addressed a public meeting in the city. Gurung expressed outrage over the role of BJP during the said meeting and accused the party of doing nothing for the hills.
In this context, the CM, today, thanked the people of the hills for understanding BJP’s “drama” and the party’s slander of lying. She claimed that only TMC can figure out a lasting political solution for the hills. She further expressed outrage over the riots being carried out in Darjeeling, Terai, and Dooars.
