One more arrested in Siliguri’s Ward No. 34 theft case; stolen items recovered

Siliguri, 25th April: In a major development in the theft case in Ward No. 34’s Bhakti Nagar area, NJP police arrested another accused and recovered part of the stolen items, including cash and silver.


The incident dates back to April 15, when miscreants stole Rs 80,000 in cash and jewellery worth lakhs from a residence. Based on the complaint, police launched an investigation and earlier arrested MD Rafiqul and MD Sameer from Fulbari, and MD Saddam from Rajaholi. However, no stolen items were found in their possession.

Following their interrogation, the name of Arjun Mondal from Matigara surfaced. He was arrested on Thursday and led the police to recover Rs 5,000 in cash and 40 grams of silver. Police are continuing efforts to trace the rest of the stolen goods.


All arrested individuals were produced before the Jalpaiguri court on Friday.
