One more arrested in NBMCH motorcycle theft case

Siliguri, 21st July: In a recent development, the officials arrested another suspect in connection with the motorcycle theft case from the premises of North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). The suspect has been identified as Sanjay Bhowmik.


According to police sources, the arrest came after interrogating another suspect, Sanju Das, who revealed that he sold stolen bikes to Sanjay Bhowmik in Alipurduar. Following this, the police conducted an operation on the previous day in Alipurduar to apprehend Sanjay on charges of purchasing stolen motorcycles and subsequently brought him to Siliguri.

Sanjay Bhowmik had previously purchased a stolen bike from Sanju Das a few days prior as well. On Sunday, Sanjay Bhowmik was presented in the Siliguri court where a remand was requested.


Notably, the police from Medical Outpost had uncovered a gang involved in stealing bikes from the parking area and surroundings of NBMCH and arrested three. With this recent arrest, the police proceeded with their investigation into the entire incident.
