Siliguri, 01st December: In an effort to promote spiritual unity, over one lakh participants will gather for a mass recitation of ‘Bhagavad Gita’ at Kawakhali ground on 15th December, organized by the Sanatan Sanskritik Sangh. On Sunday, a traditional “Khutti Puja” was performed at the venue ahead of the event.
During the ceremony, sacred soil from Kurukshetra and holy water from various pilgrimage sites were offered at the Kawakhali ground. The ritual was attended by prominent figures, including Swami Pradiptanand Maharaj, president of the Sanatan Sanskritik Sangh, and Bhaktivedanta Swajan Maharaj, a saint from the Gaudiya Math.
Speaking at the event, Swami Pradiptanand Maharaj emphasized that in today’s world, marked by societal decay, corruption, and violence, the teachings of the ‘Bhagavad Gita’ offer the sole path to righteousness and the advancement of human civilization.
Additionally, Bhaktivedanta Swajan Maharaj addressed the recent attacks on minority communities in Bangladesh, condemning the violence and expressing solidarity with the affected groups.
