Rajganj, 05th June: One person died while three others were injured in a road accident in Rajganj’s Fatapukur area.
According to local sources, a person was standing on the roadside in Fatapukur around 12 noon today, when a truck heading from Jalpaiguri ran him and overturned. The said person was seriously injured in this incident. Apart from this, three people including the driver of the truck were injured.
After the incident, the injured were taken to Rajganj Rural Hospital, where the doctors declared the said person dead. Meanwhile, the others are undergoing treatment at the hospital. Locals expressed outrage over the incident.
Local resident Bapi Chaudhary said that accidents happen frequently in the area allegedly due to poorly planned road constructions. They demanded a permanent solution to the problem.
Local panchayat member Amal Kudi said that the incident took place at around 12 noon. The passerby died on the spot and has not yet been identified. “Road construction is being carried out without planning leading to such accidents,” he added.
On the other hand, as soon as the news was received, Rajganj police reached the spot and recovered the vehicle and started investigating the incident.
