Naxalbari, 26th March: A tragic road accident in Naxalbari claimed the life of one youth and left another seriously injured after a motorcycle rammed into a stationary e-rickshaw on the Panighata-Naxalbari state highway. The incident took place in the Babupara area.
According to sources, the motorcycle was heading towards Naxalbari from Panighata when it crashed into an e-rickshaw standing on the road at Babupara. Both riders on the bike sustained critical injuries in the collision.
The injured were rescued and taken to Naxalbari Hospital, where one of them was declared dead by the on-duty doctor. The deceased has been identified as Raj Kherwar, a resident of Satbhaiya. The other injured, Shubham Vishwakarma, remains in critical condition.
Police have initiated an investigation into the incident. A pall of grief has descended over the area following the accident.
