Kharibari, June 27th: A person fell victim to an elephant attack that occurred this morning at Manjay Jote, under the jurisdiction of Raniganj Gram Panchayat in Kharibari block. The injured individual has been identified as Parimal Singh, a 40-year-old resident of Dulal Jote.
Reportedly, Parimal Singh sustained injuries during an encounter with a wild elephant while working in the field. Local residents came to his aid and took him to the Batasi Primary Health Center. However, due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for further treatment. The Kharibari police station and personnel from the Tukriajhar forest department arrived at the scene upon receiving news of the incident.
