Naxalbari, 02nd January: A tragic incident unfolded on the night of the New Year where a youth lost his life in a road accident, while three others sustained severe injuries. The deceased has been identified as J Prasad Roy, a resident of Hatighisa, while the injured are Sayan Barai, Sanjay Singh, and Pabitra Singh.
According to reports, two motorcycles collided head-on in the Satbhaiya flyover area of Naxalbari on Monday night. The incident led to the instant death of J Prasad Roy while the three other individuals were critically injured. Following this, the injured were immediately rescued by the locals and transported to the Naxalbari Rural Hospital, from where they were referred to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH).
Meanwhile, Naxalbari police reached the spot upon learning of the incident and took the motorcycles in custody. At present, the entire incident is under further police investigation.
