Rajganj, 30th August: An incident of mishap surfaced from the Siliguri-Jalpaiguri National Highway (NH), at Fatapukur More of Rajganj block at around 10 pm on Tuesday night, in which a two-wheeler rider lost his life.
As per reports, two individuals were on a bike en route to Siliguri from Jalpaiguri, during which, a stray dog appeared in the middle of the NH. As the two-wheeler rider attempted to evade a collision with the dog, he lost control of the bike and crashed. The rider was then run over by a lorry which was approaching from behind. Consequently, the rider died on the spot, while, the other occupant, a woman, escaped unhurt.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased was a resident of an area adjacent to Siliguri. Upon receiving the news of the accident, Rajganj police arrived at the spot, took possession of the bike, and initiated an investigation into the incident.
