Kharibari, 06th August: A horrifying road accident surfaced where a scooty rider lost his life after being hit by a tractor on National Highway 327 in the Simultala area of Batasi in Kharibari. The deceased has been identified as Sahadeb Sarkar (26), a resident of the North Rathkhola area in Naxalbari.
As per reports, on Saturday night, a tractor was en route from Panitanki to Kharibari while the two-wheeler was traveling from the opposite direction. During this, the tractor rammed into the two-wheeler and the rider died on the spot.
After the accident, the tractor driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Later, the said tractor was seized by the police. Currently, Kharibari police have initiated an investigation into the entire incident.
