Siliguri, 20th October: A person lost his life after being hit by an Army truck in Siliguri’s Gurung Basty More. The incident created a stir in the entire area.
According to local sources, the tragic incident occurred when the truck coming from the Junction area hit him while he was crossing the road at the said area. Following this, the infuriated locals vandalized the Army vehicle. The locals further blamed the negligence of Traffic Police for the unfortunate incident.
Upon receiving the news, a large force of the Pradhan Nagar police reached the spot and brought the situation under control. The body was recovered and sent to North Bengal Medical College-Hospital for an autopsy.
The identity of the deceased has not been learned yet. Meanwhile, the police have taken the truck into custody and started an investigation into the whole incident.
