Siliguri, 01st December: The Transport Directorate under the transport department of the state government organized a one-day refresher course for motor training school instructors at Dinabandhu Mancha (Tathya Kendra) in Siliguri. Senior officials from the transport department were in attendance at this event.
According to reports, there are a large number of motor training schools in Siliguri that educate individuals on driving. Nonetheless, the rules and regulations of the transport department have undergone numerous modifications with time. In an effort to enlighten the general public about the new laws and protocols, the transportation department organized a training program for the instructors. The event was graced by the management and instructors of the Motor Training Schools of Siliguri.
As stated by an official in the transport department, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is promoting the ‘Safe Drive Save Life’ campaign to lower road accidents. In the past few years, there has been a notable decrease in traffic accidents due to this effort. The transport department’s policies and procedures have also undergone significant changes in recent times. In view of this, the program was organized to spread awareness regarding the modified rules of driving.
