Siliguri, 18th June: NJP police arrested an individual identified as Aliya Mohammad on charges of theft. Earlier, police had received complaints of numerous bags of grains being stolen from a company in Fulbari adjacent to Siliguri.
According to reports, on the 25th of May, 60 sacks of grain were stolen. Following the incident, the company officials lodged a written complaint at the NJP police station. Based on the complaint, the undercover cops of NJP Police Station initiated an investigation.
Meanwhile, on Saturday night police arrested the accused from an area under the NJP police station. After the arrest, 21 bags of stolen grains were recovered from the house of the accused. Today, the accused has been produced before the Jalpaiguri Court. At present, police are further investigating the entire matter.
