Chalsa, 26th April: Acting on a tip-off, the forest personnel of Chalsa Range launched an operation and seized a substantial amount of sal wood. Reportedly, the officials searched a house in Ganesh Mandir Line area of Mahabari around 11 pm on Monday night and recovered large number of wood stored illegally. However, no arrest has been made in this incident.
The recovered wood has been taken to the Chalsa Range office. The market value of the recovered wood is estimated to be around Rs 1 lakh. Ranger Shubhendu Das of Chalsa said that such campaigns will be conducted in the coming days as well.
